The typeface for text used in the artwork is the "URW Palladio L".
It is a free substitute for Adobe's "Palatino" also known as Microsofts "Book Antiqua". The authors are URW GmbH, Primoz Peterlin and Walter Schmidt.

It can be downloaded from the tex-archive at CTAN or as Type 1 and TTF from here. License is the GNU GPL.

Sources

The source of the labels can be downloaded as editable GIMP XCF. The filesize is 35 MB.

The source of the covers can be downloaded as editable Inkscape SVG. Inside the zipfile are all source-files, bitmaps and the corresponding editable GIMP XCFs. The filesize is around 29 MB.

The quotes on the labels for Etch and Lenny are listed in this textfile.

If you wonder about the matrix-style lines and numbers in the background - they are the results of the Debian Project Leader Elections 2007.
